Digital Alcohol Breath Tester

Digital Alcohol Breath Tester

When you first think of a digital alcohol breath tester, what is the image that comes to mind? Drunken driving with police making an arrest. Sobriety checkpoints. Maybe a random drug/alcohol screening at work. Hey, we all like to have a drink, and there's nothing wrong with that. The opportunity for anxiety greatly increases when you've had a drink and you are hoping the alcohol is completely out of your system when you're called on to blow into that scary little machine. Wouldn't it be nice to have your own digital alcohol breath tester around to help avoid an embarrassing and potentially dangerous mistake?

Breath testers, or breathalyzers as they're more commonly known, are nothing more than electronic devices that passively collect particles from a person's breath that indicate the present level of their blood alcohol content (BAC). BAC is a standard measurement used by the judicial system in determining what is unsafe and illegal to operate certain types of machinery such as automobiles, boats, and construction equipment. In most states and other places in the world, the legal BAC limit under which it is okay to operate a motor vehicle is .08% BAC, or 80 milligrams per 10 milliliters of blood. In other places the legal limit may be as low as .05% BAC. If you're under the legal drinking age, 21 in the United States, than any alcohol present in your blood stream is illegal - i.e. zero tolerance.

Wouldn't it be nice to know where you're at in terms of blood alcohol if you're out for a night on the town or just finishing up at a particularly wild party? Now we all know when we have had too much to drink to even think of getting behind the wheel, but what if you came as a designated driver and you had just one unplanned drink three hours before everyone decided to wrap things up? Or what if you were responsible enough to wait a few hours to sober up before driving home after a party, but you're still unsure whether or not you are safe to be behind the wheel operating a motor vehicle?

Alcohol at a Party

There are many situations involving alcohol in which it would be very convenient to have a digital alcohol blood tester on hand. If you are going to be out and you plan on having a drink or two, getting good breathalyzer results before you make the decision to drive is a smart and safe decision for you, your passengers, and the other drivers on the road. In fact, it's fairly common for individuals to have their own personal breathalyzer machine - or aclometer by another common name. And don't think you have to lug around some huge breathalyzer machine or have an embarrassing contraption strapped to your waist when you go out in order to test your own blood alcohol level. A portable breathalyzer will easily fit under your driver's seat or in the glove compartment. Most digital blood alcohol testers are compact enough to fit in an average size purse or handbag.

So if you do purchase a digital alcohol breath tester, feel good about yourself that you are taking the responsible route before going out and putting yourself or someone else in jeopardy.
